Apply your extensive experience in delivering competency-based training in Sports and Recreation to the enthusiastic students at CDU's Palmerston Campus.

The Charles Darwin University (CDU) Vocational Education and Training (VET) Faculty is responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting of government subsidised and fee for service training and assessment to approximately 14,000 students across the Northern Territory. 


Operating within the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Service Industries, the Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation Team provides nationally accredited training from Certificate I to Diploma level qualifications in Hospitality; Event Management, Tourism including Guiding; and Fitness, Sport and Recreation as well as accredited short courses and non-accredited training.  

As the VET Lecturer/Workplace Assessor – Sports and Recreation you are responsible for the development and delivery of training whilst working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and the VET Quality Framework and to the competency standards of the Sport, Fitness & Recreation Training Package. You will deliver training programs through flexible learning environments including, classrooms and/or other nominated teaching locations/workplace environments either on or off campus and remote areas of the Northern Territory.

You are also expected to contribute to growing the teaching business and anticipate and respond to industry training requirements.

To be successful you must:

  • Possess as a minimum, Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation or equivalent field with demonstrated relevant work experience in the Sports and Recreation industry.
  • Current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or its successor) and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required
