About the Position
At Charles Darwin University the Library is at the heart of teaching, learning and research support. As the Associate Director Discovery and Access, you will be responsible for strategic leadership of a portfolio of specialist library services for all CDU locations. Leading teams of passionate staff dedicated to enhancing the learning experience and academic success of our students and researchers. Together they deliver a diverse range services. We are seeking a champion to advance the Library’s capacity to deliver pedagogically and digitally effective services and support to meet current and emerging needs.  This critical position is a key member of the Library Executive Team and makes a significant contribution to the strategic direction of library services within the University.

As the ideal candidate you have :

  • Expertise  managing  significant human and material resources in a complex, changing environment.
  • A passionate commitment to excellent client service.
  • Proven ability to make significant contributions to business strategy, including SWOT analysis.
  • Commitment to developing and supporting staff through professional development and training opportunities and cultivating a positive and inclusive team culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Extensive experience conceptualising, developing and implementing new initiatives aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
  • Demonstrated high-level business planning skills including the ability to manage high impact programs of work, ensuring critical deadlines are met, and that risks, issues and resources are effectively manage.
  • High level communication skills, with excellent written skills, and the  ability to influence stakeholders at various levels across a large organisation. 
  • Excellent  analytical, and research skills and the ability synthesis of information and data for decision making.

Remuneration 
Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 10. The base salary will be in the range of $126,376 to $140,256 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $147,859 to $164,099 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
