Engage with students, industry and academic staff to develop best practice VET assessment tools and work-based learning practices.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As VET Assessment and Work-Based Learning Specialist, you will apply your significant experience, knowledge and training in Vocational Education and Training (VET) assessment and work-based learning development to drive improvements in the digital capability of academic staff, develop best practice guides and resources, and ensure full compliance with education legislation.

Drawing upon your industry engagement strengths, you will foster the co-design model where assessment and work-based learning is informed by industry needs and incorporates feedback from industry, students, and other stakeholders including working collaboratively with designers and specialist staff across the Education Strategy portfolio. This will require advanced interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to strengthening rapport and relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

You will hold a relevant degree level qualification and knowledge and training in VET assessment and work-based learning development, as well as a current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher-level adult education qualification. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of educational compliance, standards and regulatory requirements and previous experience providing advice, support and training on the development of assessment tools which cater for different delivery locations, student cohorts and modes of delivery will strengthen your application.
