Lead the development of CDUs Advanced Manufacturing Alliance

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

The Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (AMA) was established in 2017 through a partnership with Charles Darwin University (CDU) and the commercial company Effusiontech PTY Ltd trading as SPEE3D. AMA offers broad capabilities including training, research and consulting for advanced manufacturing with a focus on 3D printing. AMA has a speciality in cold spray technology, an advanced form of additive manufacturing that can 3D print metal objects, with a SPEE3D cold spray printer based at CDU’s Casuarina campus in Darwin. To date, AMA has provided solutions for a range of industries, including; Defence, Health, Mining and resources.
