Lead the team who design and deliver programs that provide academic and language literacy support to students at CDU.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As a result of an organisational restructure that will unify VET and Higher Education to better support CDU’s strategic objectives, opportunities have arisen to join a dynamic Student and Engagement Success team at CDU. Several opportunities have arisen to join new and existing teams aimed at improving the student experience, contributing to student growth (through acquisition and retention strategies) and supporting education innovation.

As Manager Language and Learning, you will lead a team of Language and Learning Advisors who provide critical support for CDU students. Providing targeted interventions that develop academic and language literacy and numeracy amongst CDU’s diverse student cohort, the team supports vocational and higher education students to succeed by designing and delivering a variety of programs and initiatives.

To be successful you require a post graduate degree in a relevant field such as adult education or applied linguistics and demonstrated experience in developing academic literacies. You will have experience in a managerial role, extensive knowledge in academic language and learning environments alongside a TESOL qualification and experience teaching English as a second language. Your high-level interpersonal and leadership skills will enable you to manage performance and drive excellence in a complex environment with dispersed teams.
