Take the lead in the development of the University’s planning and budgeting process to help maintain our status as a “rising star”.

University Finance deliver Charles Darwin University's financial and procurement services, in support of teaching, learning, research and community engagement activities across all University business areas.


As the Manager of Budgets and Compliance you are part of the Finance leadership team, reporting to the Director of Finance and are responsible for leading the development of the University budget planning and compliance activities. This includes coordinating the periodic budget cycle and recommending changes or enhancements to budget models to maintain the strategic vision of the University, and overseeing the compliance activities relating to corporate taxation and insurance.

Leading a small dedicated team, you will develop and implement effective budgeting policies and procedures and work closely with all levels of management and staff to ensure revenues and costs are accurately budgeted.  In addition, you are responsible for undertaking internal reviews of business processes and recommend change strategy to achieve cost reduction targets or efficiencies.

To be successful you require a postgraduate qualification in Accounting or an equivalent field with extensive relevant experience, proven experience in the development of complex financial models with advanced excel capabilities and an up to date understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian Taxation.
