Design and deliver programs and services that provide academic and language literacy support to students at CDU.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

Implementation of a successful change in 2020 brought VET and HE teams together to better support students. It’s a great time to join the dynamic Student and Engagement Success team at CDU, working to improve the student experience, contribute to student growth (through acquisition and retention strategies) and support education and training innovation.

As Language and Learning Advisor, you will provide critical support for CDU students. Providing targeted interventions that develop academic and language literacy and numeracy amongst CDU’s diverse student cohort, you’ll be supporting vocational and higher education students to succeed by designing and delivering a variety of programs and initiatives.

To be successful you require a degree in a relevant field such as adult education or applied linguistics and demonstrated experience in developing academic literacies. You will possess a TESOL qualification with experience in delivering language programs to students with English as an additional language. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage and collaborate with professional and academic staff and VET and HE students from diverse educational, language and cultural backgrounds.
