Provide strategic advice, analysis and high-level executive support in this dynamic role.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As Executive Officer, you are a member of the Global Strategy and Advancement (GSA) team with responsibility for providing strategic advice, analysis and executive support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in a manner that facilitates achievement of objectives, projects and initiatives. This includes gathering, interpreting and communicating relevant information and professional advice to the GSA group that provides recommendations and facilitates decision-making and undertakes follow-up action, review of policies and monitoring of projects.  You will also be responsible for the daily operations of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office.

Using your effective communication skills, you will develop strong relationships with, and maintain a network of, internal and external University contacts to proactively communicate the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s views and policy directions, negotiate on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and provide advice and information that ensures business is conducted proficiently.

To be successful you will hold a post-graduate qualification and have extensive experience relevant to shaping research strategy and advancing organisational reform and extensive management experience, or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
