Provide valuable support to staff and students within the Library at CDU.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supportive learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow.

As an Academic and Research Librarian, you will deliver a range of services in an online-first environment providing the CDU community with information, research and instructional support, as well as providing leadership and professional advice to ensure staff and students are supported in the development and maintenance of skills and knowledge required for successful academic endeavours.

Excellent interpersonal skills are an inherent requirement of this role, to promote collaboration and engagement with professional and academic staff and students. Experience in delivering relevant and contemporary training programs and an understanding of pedagogical models and best practices in student learning will be highly advantageous, as will demonstrated contemporary knowledge of scholarly resources and specialist research support services.

You will hold a degree in Library and Information Science and relevant experience in the delivery of research and information services, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training and qualifying for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).  In this role, you will be using a wide range of electronic resources, systems and software, so advance digital literacy will be essential to your success.
